About

Builtbyplayers,forplayers.

DiceDelve started from a specific frustration: lots of people want to play, but getting to an actual table still takes hours of scheduling DMs and a prayer. We thought that was solvable.

Why this app exists

Tabletop hobbies are quietly huge. Dungeons & Dragons sold out printings across the 2010s and 2020s. Board games fill shelves at every corner game store. Warhammer stores host tournaments on weekends nobody notices until you walk past. Magic: The Gathering is older than most of its players.

And yet, starting an actual game with strangers is still hard. Reddit threads get dozens of comments that don't turn into sessions. Discord servers accumulate members who never meet in person. “We should play sometime” dies by a thousand calendar conflicts.

DiceDelve is an attempt to make that friction lower, without making it creepy. The whole product revolves around a single idea: an intent— a lightweight public signal that you want to play a specific game at a specific rough time and place, and you're open to strangers joining. We wrote about why we built it intent-first, not location-first.

What we believe

  • Privacy is a feature, not a compliance task. No GPS, no passive location pins, no surveillance-style tracking. City-level, purpose-limited, and explained in plain English.
  • In-person beats online. Online communities are great, but real life is where the memories happen. The product nudges toward that.
  • Hobbies are broader than D&D. Board games, card games, wargames, indie RPGs — everything deserves easy discovery, not just the biggest franchise.
  • Polish matters. The app should feel cozy and specific, not a generic SaaS with a dragon icon stapled on.

Where we are today

DiceDelve launched on iOS and Android with the core loop: post a meetup intent, see nearby intents on a map, chat with other players, play. You can browse every feature in one scroll. We've shipped nearby playersand we're working on a lightweight feed, safer events, and local-venue support.

We're small. We read feedback. If you want to tell us what you'd love to see next, our email is in the footer.
